Growing Season Notes | 2015 growing season began with the vineyards in recovery mode. November 2014 started with unseasonably warm temperatures followed swiftly by severe cold, causing vine damage and loss throughout Sunnyslope. When bud break began in the spring, growers recognized an approximate 40% crop loss. The 2015 growing season started with early bud break and intense heat throughout the growing season. July brought unseasonable rains and powdery mildew pressure in the vineyards. The harvest season was warm and long, allowing grapes to finish with intense fruit flavors and balanced acids. Overall, what the 2015 vintage lacked in quantity was compensated for in great quality. Small berry size bursting with intense fruit flavors. Delicious! |
