Growing Season Notes |
Alder Ridge Vineyard is a steep site with south-facing slopes overlooking the Columbia River. 2020 was a mild growing season with mid-April bud break followed by a warm spring. Heat accumulation tracked the long-term average with veraison occurring in early August. The wildfires facing the west blew smoke into the Columbia River basin during the second week of September. This vineyard was picked the third week of September. The long growing season combined with low yields resulted in wonderful balance, length, and aromatics in the whites, and concentrated flavor, color, texture and structure. |

Growing Season Notes |
A cool, wet spring led to a slow start of the 2019 growing season. The mild summer provided consistent, even ripening without extreme heat. An early frost brought an abrupt end to the season in Mid-October. But lower yields and a perfect summer brought out a complex, balanced and nuanced 2019 vintage. |

Growing Season Notes |
2018 was an exceptional growing season with bud break in mid April, and a gradual temperature increases to flower set and fruit set. The growing season was long with gradient temperatures allowing fruit to develop without extreme heat stress. Harvest began in early October and a long Indian summer assured that all fruit was ripe with nice acidity. |
